I went though a very rough patch in my life where I was consumed by my thoughts and it made me doubt myself. I was having thoughts that scared me, bothered me, and made me so anxious that I couldn’t do anything about it.. or so I thought. I realized this was normal and these thoughts are called intrusive thoughts. For me along with other people, they tend to stick around more because we fear them and try to block them out. This is not the answer. Here are some reminders for you if you’re dealing with this.

  1. Your thoughts don’t define you
  2. You can’t help what thoughts pops up in your mind
  3. You decide what thoughts you give attention and which you don’t
  4. Everyone has them, even your idols
  5. There is so reason to be scared, they don’t mean anything
  6. The reason you fear them so much is because their the opposite of you
  7. These thoughts are NOT hidden desires that you have
  8. Thoughts are just thoughts
  9. They DON’T deserve your attention
  10. They are meaningless

Here are some affirmations that have helped me with dealing with intrusive thoughts and anxiety

  1. I create my own reality
  2. I know who I am
  3. I am in control
  4. I have the power, not my mind
  5. I am not my thoughts
  6. I don’t give my thoughts attention
  7. I focus on the present moment
  8. I am mindful of everything I do
  9. I do not fear my mind
  10. I take back my power
